In this online side event, GIZ Proklima will present sound strategies to implement Green Cooling, talk about the importance of a qualified RAC workforce and discuss the best-available technology.
Especially in developing countries and emerging economies, the demand for cooling is rising. Due to its considerable share of ozone- and climate-damaging emissions, the refrigeration and air-conditioning (RAC) sector is playing an increasingly important role, not only in ozone protection but also in climate and energy policy. The question is how all three together can use the RAC sector’s savings potential to achieve current national and international climate and development targets. This virtual side event will provide an overview of possible fields of action.
Find out and discuss on how to identify emissions origin and considerable savings potentials of the RAC sector in your country and learn about appropriate cooling strategies. Get insights in particularly effective instruments such as the use of natural refrigerants, the training of qualified RAC technicians and the integration of appropriate technologies such as R290 split AC and their benefits and opportunities for ozone, climate and energy policy.
